Scope & content: The plates in this volume are grouped in five sections, each section introduced by a tissue guard on which has been pasted a printed label describing the category of plants and giving prices. The sections are as follows: Hardy Japanese Flowering Cherries (4 plates), Hardy Japanese Maples (4 plates), Hardy Magnolias (5 plates), Gauntlett's Japanese Herbaceous Pæonies (27 plates), and Gauntlett's New Hardy Japanese Irises (34 plates). The tissue guard for Irises has pasted on it also a notice that stocks have run low on the irises, and for the time being only a limited selection is available.
