Watercolour painting of three varieties of citrus growing on a branch, followed by an extensive description in Latin and French. Twelve lines of manuscript text, in a different hand (indicated to be from Mr Le Comte de Carnin and Staden, on the previous page) describing the bizarre nature and origin of the hermaphordite citrus, first raised and described in Florence in 1644….found in the orangerie of Monsieur de Carnin de Harden, Chateau de Male [also spelt Malle or Maele]
