Unmounted medium format colour slide of Professor Eric Dodds (1893-1979) (left) with Eton headmaster Anthony Chevenix-Trench (1919-1979) and his wife Elizabeth Chenevix-Trench (nee Spicer) (1909-1973) In Corfu, Greece. A Cercis tree can be seen in the background. Ink inscription on sleeve on recto: 'Cercis etc'; Corfu.'; 'Dr Dodds Oxford Botanic & Arthur Chevenix-Trench Eton'; 'Swan's Cruise'. Pencil inscription: 'Corfu'. Address supplied. Full names: Professor Eric Robinson Dodds; Elizabeth Chalmers Chenevix-Trench. 'Swan's cruise' from the inscription is a reference to the British cruise line Swan Hellenic. Founded in 1950, it specialises in historical and cultural expeditions and both Anthony Chevenix-Trench and Valerie Finnis lectured for them
