Unmounted medium format colour slide of photographer and alpine expert Valerie Finnis (1924-2006) with her husband, Sir David Scott (1887-1986) also a keen plantsman and former diplomat. They are sitting on a bench in their garden at the Dower House (Boughton House). Ink inscription on sleeve on recto: 'D. V. Scott'; '6'; '142 use in GI 1995'. Address supplied. Full name: Sir David John Montagu Douglas Scott. After her marriage to Sir David Scott, Valerie was also known as Lady Montagu Douglas Scott. Valerie Finnis married David Scott in 1970 and moved into his home, the Dower House, part of Boughton House and one of the seats of the Duke of Buccleuch. Finnis lived at the Dower House after Sir David's death in 1986 until her own death in 2006
